White Nile Sugar Factory Sudan
White Nile Sugar Factory project, located in the south of Khartoum about 200 Km. The project covers an area of 1 million square meters and the factory covers an area of 5 square kilometers. The total investment of project is about $1 billion and the civil part is more than $120 million. As Africa’s largest sugar factory, the design output of sugar is 450000 tons per year. The civil contract includes construction works of factory, housing construction, road and bridge construction, VIP guest house construction etc. The factory contains 4 boiler room, steam room, two pressing workshop, distillation workshops, purification workshop and packing workshop, sewage water treatment and the sugar cane juice processing facilities.
After the factory was built and operated, it achieved a complete production line from sugarcane planting to press processing and finally sugarcane bag reconstituted power generation. The total volume of earthwork completed exceeds 1 million cubic meters, the concrete volume exceeds 120,000 cubic meters, and the reinforcing steel is 14,000 tons. The project was started in 2007, and it was ready for production in 2012. In July of the same year, the Sudanese President Mr. Bashir, the Minister of Industry Dr. Jazz, and the general manager of the White Nile Sugar Plant Mr. Hanssan A. Satti, cut the ribbon for the project. They gave high praise to the construction quality, speed and safety of Nantong Construction Engineering Company.
